Creative Art Director and Visual Development Artist

bio-randy-gaul-250pxRandy’s award-winning creative artistry and imagination both as an art director and visual development designer is a gift to The Balance Project. Randy’s eye-popping creative contributions span a long list of blockbuster films, television commercials, the world of print graphics, and his work his been featured in select galleries. Randy began his career at George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) where he provided concept art and art direction on films such as “Star Wars Attack of the Clones”, “Gangs of New York,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone”, “The Perfect Storm”, “Signs”, “The Mummy Returns” and many others. While at ILM he garnished several awards for his work in both the features and commercials divisions. Among some of the memorable commercial characters that Randy has received tv-industry accolades for are a Clio for Pepsi’s “Marfalump Has a Date” and an Annie Award for Lamisil’s unforgettable “Digger” in their commercials.  After ILM,  Randy joined IceBlink Studios where he contributed artwork on such major feature films as: “Polar Express”, “War of the Worlds”, “Beowulf”, “and “Christmas Carol”.  Randy’s impeccable visual eye is now sought out by multiple studios and he currently collaborates with a variety of studios and production companies including Universal Studios, Legendary Films, Disney Imagineering, and Lightstream Productions.  Randy’s most recent work can been seen in the soon to be released “Rio” with Blue Sky Studios. . Randy occasionally teaches and provides both artistic skills and the wisdom necessary to thrive in today’s current environment.
